Our Future

Our Bishop, The Rev. Kirk Smith, has charged each congregation to join together as a Diocese to become Christ - Centered and Mission Minded.

As a result, a wide range of ministry areas have become tangible programs. These include things like: Native American (First People) ministry, Youth and Children's mninistry, Hispanic ministry, and Community Outreach. We will be developing ministries that enable us to contribute to this process of making a difference in the world

In our congregation at St. James, we have chosen to focus on providing ministry programs and

opportunities for all age groups. We have identified a focus on Children and Youth as a way to meet a particular need in our area with the resources we have been given. We intend to keep the dream alive for a future church that would serve Ahwatukee and the growth corridore South to Maricopa.

Our immediate plan is to continue developing our Sunday worship services to be outstanding. Doing two different styles well (Traditional and Contemporary) have become our trademark. We are blessed to be able to do so much with the 10:30am Contemporary service musically. The involvment of Children in ministries is also an area we are developing.

Our Vision

In all we do, we strive to see and make known the love of God in Christ. The mission of the church is to restore all people to unity with God and each other in Christ.
