St. James Preschool & Kindergarten

It is our hope to offer the community a safe, healthy environment for children; an environment that will encourage the children to grow and develop at their own pace. With love and understanding we hope to encourage the children to come to respect themselves, their peers and adults. It is our goal to foster the joy of discovery and a love of learning in every child who enters St James Preschool. We encourage your child to experience:

Purpose

Saint James Preschool is a Christian ministry of Saint James the Apostle Episcopal Church to the community and we extend an invitation to the community's children and families to participate in a respectful and loving environment that will encourage everyone to know God and his Kingdom.

Saint James Preschool is committed to a developmentally appropriate learning program which enables preschool children to grow spiritually, intellectually, physically, emotionally, and socially in a Christian environment. We are dedicated to teaching children that they are unique, valued individuals, loved as children of God. Through biblical and hands on educational activities, children will learn to live as Jesus lives, with God's love serving as the guiding principle throughout the program. Saint James welcomes children of any race, color and national or ethnic origin.

Class Size and Teacher Ratios

Saint James Preschool maintains a ratio at or lower than those standards set down by the State of Arizona. The Number of children permitted in each classroom is governed by the regulations set down by the State of Arizona and the City of Tempe. These guidelines are adhered to in order to provide the safest learning environment for your children.

Nutrition

Children at Saint James Preschool are offered a snack each morning. These snacks are provided by the preschool, with the exception of the previously mentioned celebrations.

Although every effort is made to accommodate the needs of each child it may be necessary for children with special dietary needs to supply their own snack.
